Raleigh Ski & Outing Club members, come out and have fun volunteering on this Habitat house. Christ Church’s 11th Habitat House has begun, and we will meet on Saturdays during the month of June at 8:30 a.m. Be assured that no one is obligated to come out every weekend, and your help will be appreciated on any Saturday(s) you choose to pitch in. The house is being built at Lot 35, Butler Cabin Road, in the Augusta Crossings Subdivision, Raleigh, which is a mix of Habitat and commercially built houses.
Volunteerswho are 16 or older are welcome to work on this house. The Government says 16s and 17s can not use power tools; but, hammers, crowbars, and paintbrushes are not power tools and are absolutely necessary to the construction of the house.Construction experience is not required; but, if you come you’ll get some.
Habitat, the house leaders, and a few of the regulars will provide all the tools necessary. You need only work gloves and, if possible, safety goggles/glasses.Of course, if you own a special hammer or left handed drill you are welcome to bring it.
